Avoiding Make-Up Meltdown

After realising that the sun might actually stick around for a while I decided to invest in a few pieces of heat-friendly make-up.
However as it's the end of the month it had to be on a budget (I don't do well with money management!), so here's my review of a few pieces I picked up in my local Superdrug:

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara in Very Black - £4.99
This mascara was great at staying put and not rubbing off under my eyebrows or giving me the dreaded under eye smudge.. however it doesn't really give me the curly eyelashes that I was used to from the Clinique High Impact (I think this might be due to the basic brush?). So towards the end of the week I started to put that on first, and then finished off with a final coat of Great Lash. For the price I can't really complain, but if you are looking for thick looking lashes - I don't think this is the mascara for you.

MUA Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in Dolly - £2
After trawling through a million blogs on how to keep make-up on your face in the summer, I concluded that a cream blusher was one of the most important things to wear. Some of these blogs mentioned MUA, and I had often gone past the section but never really looked. This blush was such a bargain, and you get your moneys worth. It's a nice peachy colour which I prefer over pinky shades, and blends into the face really easily (with both finger or brush). It stays on throughout the day and doesn't lose it's sheen, would definitely recommend!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadow in Pink Gold - £4.99
I've read that using this can act as a primer, and stops eyeliner from moving around too - I like to do a flick over my eyes when I have time in the mornings, so it this looked ideal. Everyone seems to love the On & On Bronze, but they had sold out in my Superdrug (typical!) so I tried out this pretty pinky colour instead. I haven't gone for 24hrs with it on, normally 10/11 at the most - after that time the worst that happens is that some of the glittery colour has settled in the crease in my eyelid, but it's not massively noticeable and the rest of it stays in place. Really impressed by this, and will be trying the On & On Bronze soon..

What are your fall back pieces to help you avoid make-up meltdown?
